Light of Love Mission

Many of the photos in this album were taken by the children themselves; they loved playing with our cameras and other electronic gadgets, and we loved the child’s-eye view of their surroundings.

The children greeted us with beautiful singing.

The Polichkos and the Kubiks were popular photo subjects.

Here at the Light of Love may be the only place these kids hear about God’s love, or truly see it in practice.

We were invited to have lunch with the children, and we accepted with delight. The meals are vegetarian, for reasons of both philosophy and economy—and they were delicious! At my table, I made the little girls giggle with my attempts at speaking Ukrainian.

Despite the language barrier, it was easy to become close to these kids. A few of the girls and I became close very quickly, and it was extremely hard to leave.

The van that they use to transport the kids badly needs replacing.
