Ozzie G. Engelbart MEMORIAL YOUTH FUND
SPONSORS TWO CAMPERS FROM BELGIUM

November 6, 2003

Originally the Ozzie Engelbart Memorial Youth Fund announced the selection of two young people from the Philippines to come to a United Church of God Youth Camp in the United States this past June. Unfortunately, they were not able to receive visas from the American Embassy and consequently could not come. We hope that we can plan further in advance for the 2004 camp season.

However, we are pleased that we were able to provide the air travel for two young Belgians to Heritage Camp in Pennsylvania. Read their report from camp.

René and his brother Jako Kasper were able to attend the Heritage Camp because of the help provided by LifeNets and the Ozzie Engelbart Memorial Fund. René is 18, and Jako is 21. Both of them live in the village of Halenfeld in Belgium, in the German-speaking part of Belgium. They attend the United Church of God in Dormagen, Germany where they have attended the last 3 years on their own. They started attending, along with their older brother Eric, on their own. René will be going to a technical school after completing his high school, and Jako is a first year university student in Bonn.

In order to give young Christian people of other countries the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to come to the United States and learn in a concentrated manner how to live the Christian life in today’s very materialistic world and how to inspire other teens back home, the Ozzie Engelbart Memorial Fund was set up to cover the cost of air fares – by far the biggest and most insurmountable expense -- for these deserving youngsters.
