Chicago UCG Young Adults Fundraiser
for LifeNets Developing Nations Scholarship Fund

June 6, 2004

The 1st Annual Chicago Garage Sale was held on June 6 and was blessed with an abundance of sunshine and eager buyers.  After weeks of rain and flooding in the Chicago area, the clouds parted for the sale which was organized by the Chicago area young adults.  The fundraiser exceeded expectations, generating over $1,500.  All  proceeds will go to LifeNets  Developing Nations Scholarship fund -- particularly for El Salvador.  Eighteen UCG students are currently studying at universities in El Salvador with support from the fund.  In the last three years, LifeNets has provided over $22,000 in scholarships to United Church of God students in El Salvador alone and a total of more than $75,000 to others in Mexico, Guatemala, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Malawi. To find out more about the fund and how a modest contribution can have a dramatic impact, visit www.lifenets.org/scholarships.
