Dear Mr. Kubik!

My name is Ernesto Pazos; I was born in Lima on December 3, 1,979.  I am the last of four brothers.

I finished my high school education in 1,996.  I had to work so I got my drivers license and began to work as a driver, but I always had the dream of studying in a technical school to improve my economic situation and help my family.

This year my dream came true when I got into a technical school to study mechanics.  Everything I am learning is so interesting; my classes are 50%theory and 50%practical. My classes began at 7am and finish at 6:30pm.

I am very grateful to God and LifeNets for helping me make my dream come true.  I am beginning my second semester and I am determined to keep learning so in the future I could help some people the way I am being help today.

Sincerely,

Ernesto Pazos

Dear Mr. Kubik!

Let me introduce myself, my name is Ana Mamani, I am 22 years old and I am studying to be a dentist in a Peruvian university called “Inca Garcilazo de la Vega”.  I have just finished my first semester and getting ready for the second one, but none of this would have been possible if I would not have received God’s blessings through Life Nets.

I wanted to thank all of you for the assistance you are giving me in paying for my education.  Sometimes I see my friends who don’t have this opportunity and have to work instead of pursuing further education and I feel very blessed. First of all I thank God for that and also to all of you.  I hope to achieve all my academic goals and make good use of this wonderful opportunity.

May God keep blessing you for living the way of give.

Your friend, now and forever,

Ana Mamani

Warm Greetings!

I wish to express profound appreciation for the help given by LifeNets. The money for payment of my first semester's post-graduate study expenses was gratefully received. Said studies will begin in January of 2003, since I was unable to enroll for the current semester.

Thank you, Mr. Walker, for your good offices, and please also convey my gratitude to Mr. Víctor Kubik and the organization under his leadership. The opportunity made available by God and both of you toward my academic and career advancement is important to me. My name is Mauricio Castro, and I live with my family here in El Salvador. First of all, I'm writing to wish you God's blessing and trust that all is well with you. Secondly, I want to thank you for the scholarship program administered by Sr. Víctor Kubik here in our country. Truly his big heart is a great blessing from God enabling us to better ourselves professionally in today's world. I would much prefer to be able to write personally to Sr. Kubik and to all whose donations have made it possible for us young persons to enroll at different local universities. I am studying for my degree in computer science and hope to take maximum advantage of the resources you are providing me. From my heart I desire God's manifold blessings on you and all those who have so unselfishly contributed to this great cause. As I said before, I would really like to personally thank everyone involved in the program but know that you will do so in my name and that of the other Salvadoran young people who have benefited as well.

Sincerely,

Mauricio Castro

Many thanks to Sres. Kubik, Thompson, McCullough and Walker for the help given to us. I know it is a blessing from God. With His and your help, we will achieve our goals. I'm in my third year of study toward a degree in Elementary Education. I'm currently taking four classes and have completed eight with a grade average of 7.8. I don't know what today's exam results will be. My family and I are well and very appreciative. May God bless you in your labor for which we are so thankful. Much love to all of you, and greetings to the membership.

First of all a big "Thank you" for the help provided to all the young university students. Thanks to this help, the financial burden on our families has been diminished. Thank you, Sres. Kubik, Walker, McCullough and Thompson. My name is Verónica Castro, and I am in my second year as an architecture major. I am 17 years old and an average student being neither really good nor really bad. The card I sent shows a bit of what they're teaching me in Project Presentations I. Well, goodbye and thanks also from my two little sisters who received the school supplies you sent.

Very thankfully,

Verónica Castro

Hello! I wish to thank you for all the help and support you have given me. I attend the Polytechnic University of El Salvador majoring in Industrial Engineering. This semester I am taking four courses: Mathematics III, Physical Science II, Statistics I and Operational Research. Right now I'm studying for final exams. Thankfully since I began my studies, I haven't failed a single class, and I'll continue putting all my efforts into achieving my goal. Again, thank you very much from me and my parents.

With all my heart,

Katya Yessenia Ortega Romero

Hello, everyone! (including Sr. Kubik!).

My name is Alida Pinto, and I'm an architecture student at the University. I've always simply loved architecture and believe it is wonderful to be able to study without feeling I'm really "studying." My first semester ends June 11, and I've learned a lot. I'm blessed to have good friends and teachers at the University. Thank you for helping us progress in our education. The drawing on the front of the card I sent was a class project, but the original is some 15 times larger and in watercolors. I am the only child of Mauricio Pinto (a minister in El Salvador) and Escarlet de Pinto.  All my life I've been surrounded by helpful and loving people, no matter what problems life presented. Again, thank you for helping us.

I love you all very much.

Alida

Sr. Víctor Kubik:

In this humble way I want to give my most sincere and deepest thanks for the help given to the Salvadoran youth enabling our university studies toward our professional careers. This has been a blessing from God for which we are extremely grateful as are our parents, since it is a great help to them as well. I am in my third year of Computer Science Engineering and am very happy with my classes because I love computers, especially programming. With God's help I hope to graduate shortly. Truthfully, when we were first told we would be getting a subsidy for our university expenses, I couldn't believe it. I thanked God very much and promised to pass all my courses since this was an opportunity that must not be wasted. Again, in the name of my parents, the other young people and myself ¡thanks very much!

Madai Lidani Orellana Rodríguez

.....Believe me when I say that I'm honestly through much effort and study striving to get good results. As with most of life--and especially for us who are God's children--things are not so easy, and we have to learn to put up with many injustices, simply by the fact that we live in a world not of God's making. Again, I must thank you for your generous help to the youth of El Salvador.

With all my love for you who are my family,

Raquel Castro

Greetings from El Salvador, and thanks from the youth here for your much appreciated support. We are counting on your help and faith in God as we go forward.

Mauricio Castro

Affectionate greetings from a young lady who has also received university aid from you. Thanks to God and to all of you for the enormous help you have given without even knowing us. I'm doing very well in my computer studies and hope to attain my goal, thanks to you and to each and everyone who has made this possible. I know personally I could never repay you for what you have done, but I will exert the maximum effort to succeed in bettering myself so your efforts will not have been in vain.

Until next time when you receive a later report,

F. Zulma Jeannette Gómez Lobo

Warm greetings from one of the youth in the Salvadoran Church who have received such bountiful help. By this means receive thanks for the efforts you are making so we young people can achieve our professional goals.

Here is a letter from Mexico City pastor Pablo Dimakis about their program

The  fund of $3,500 dollars that was sent to us last year, was distributed among 13 students from various parts of Mexico.

These 13 students were chosen by our Mexican Youth Committee on the basis of economical needs and upon the recommendation of the minister in charge of each student's area. Some of these students are in junior high and others are in high-school. They were chosen because their parents have very limited income and it is very hard for them to send their children to school, because they have two, three or more children in school-age (elementary, junior high, high school) and it is hard for them to meet all their needs with their limited income.

I can speak about the students that were helped last school-year in Mexico City. They are: Alma Angeles, Karla Angeles, Karen Sanchez and Israel Garay. They all are in high-school. In the case of Alma and Karla, they live with their mother Alma, a church member. She lives alone and has to work in order to support her 5 children, all of them in school-age. She is being given third tithe assistance and the Youth Committe chose two of her 4 daughters for scholarship.

In the case of Sharon Sanchez, she is a junior-high student. Her mother, Eva Rosas, also liver alone and she also has to work to support her 3 children, all of them in school age.

In the case of Israel Garay, he is also in junior-high, and he has 2 more brothers and 3 sisters. His father is a hard worker, but does not make enough money to be able to meet all this family's needs.

Needless to say, even the small scholarship with which these young boys and girls are being helped, is very much appreciated by these families.

Since during this coming school-year Mexico will receive $7,000 dollars of scholarships aid, it will be possible to assign the scholarships in such a manner as to better meet the real educational needs of those young boys and girls whose families are living in very tight economical conditions.

Warmest regards,

Pablo Dimakis
Minister in Mexico City
