Container Worth $145,000 Leaves for Ukraine

Another ten ton 20 foot container loaded with 804 boxes as part of the four-part Operation Support Freedom current series of shipments left for Ukraine today (July 26, 1996). Destination is Mission Nazareth in Khust, Transcarpathia. The route it will take is St. Paul, MN to Norfolk, VA to Odessa, then to Khust.

This shipment included two and a half tons of rice, half ton of cooking oil, dried potatoes, macaroni, anti-biotics, vitamins, dental tools etc. etc. Included also were 200 boxes of clothing and much much more.

Mission Nazareth which is operated by the Sabbatarian community has become one of the last resorts for the impoverished citizens of Ukraine. In Khust unemployment is running at 70%. The death rate has had a dramatic upturn as the stress of survival has become critical.
