On Tuesday, January 10, 2006 a $500 check was presented to Ronald McDonald House Director Kathy Kieser by Mayor John Warford of Bismarck. An additional check for $500 was presented to Mandan Parks and Recreation Department Cole Higglin on behalf of Mayor Ken LaMont of Mandan. These presentations we made on behalf of the North Dakota Chapter of LifeNets by Pam Redline, President, in gratitude for the wonderful support from each mayor and their staff. Pam is also owner of Redline Fitness.

Last year's special event was held on Sunday, September 25, 2005, 54 participants from many locations across the United States and Canada gathered in Mandan, ND for a fundraiser to benefit LifeNets. This Sprint Triathlon comprised a 500 yard swim, 13.5 mile cross-country bike ride and a three mile run. Age categories included seven years to 70 year olds.

The event was held at the Mandan Community Center from 9:00 am until 12:30 pm. Medals were presented to winners in each age category. Along with volunteering, participating and providing concessions, this was the Bismarck United Church of God congregation's service project for the year. Of course, without local police support and other community involvement, the day wouldn't have run so smoothly.

Victor Kubik, Founder and Director of LifeNets, gave a video presentation on Saturday night, September 24, 2005, at the Best Western Seven Seas Conference Center in Mandan, ND. Mr. Kubik also participated in the biking portion of the Triathlon. Close to $2500 was raised for LifeNets.
