Course Description

The Bike race will be held on a very good course with plenty of room to be seen and to negotiate the course.

Both of the bike races will engage on the same course. This course begins at the South doors of the swimming complex at the Mandan Community Center.

Contestants will head East to 6th Avenue NW which is at the end of the street leading from the Community Center.

Turn Right heading South and proceed to the traffic light which is Main street and then turn Right and head West to the final traffic light on Main street. This is the junction of Main and 10th Avenue NW. At this point the contestants have traveled 1 mile.

Both groups of bikers will turn Left at this traffic light and head South over the railroad tracks and begin heading out of town.

As the course runs out of town, the contestants will come to the first sign that raises the speed limit to 65 mph on the highway. This is the 2 mile marker for the bikers. (Not a suggestion for your speed to increase).

Continuing South, contestants will come to 44th Street which signals the 3 mile marker.

The Mandan Airport entrance is the 5 mile marker.

Now we come to a very important location which is a mile marker set by the State of North Dakota on the Left side of the road (East side). This is mile marker 62. It marks the 6.5 mile turn around for the Sprint riders.

At this point the basic riders will return to the Community Center over the same course and the Olympic will continue South.

The Olympic group will continue South for another 6.5 miles to the turn around for their return to the Community Center over the same course. The turn around point is a business location on the East side of the highway known as the R.G. Manufacturing Company.

The Swim will take place in the Mandan Community Center pool and will begin with the Sprint group followed by the Olympic.

The run for both groups will involve the large outdoor recreation acreage that lies West out of the Community Center. The trail run will be used by both groups but the Olympic will break off at the end of the Sprint group’s and then head North up the concrete sidewalk to it’s end and back down into the recreation acreage. This trail will be clearly marked.

Both runs will end at the South doors of the Pool area.
