Driver about to head out. Container leaves
loading dock at 4:10 pm November 3rd for
Soo Line rail yard where it begins long journey
to southern Africa.
After over two years of preparation and a tremendous team effort in loading a container to two clinics in Malawi, our shipment finally arrives. Arrival date was actually January 19, 1999 after leaving St. Paul, Minnesota on November 3, 1998. But, red tape and other problems detained the release date. We are thrilled that UCG member Gladstone Chonde of Malakia Clinic in Lilongwe and Dr. Trywell Nyirongo of Kasambala Medical Center in the northern part of the Malawi will finally benefit from the work of many people in the United States who coordinated this relief effort. We have asked our recipients to take photos of the unloading of the container so we can share them with you.
Here is an email that we received from Gladstone Chonde on April 24, 1999

Dear Mr Kubik,
Greetings and best wishes from Malawi. At last we have received the long awaited container. We received it on Monday 19th of April.
We find no sutable words we can use to thank you for tirelessy working to have the container delivered to Malakia Clinic at long last!
Trywell Nyirongo was informed on the same Monday about the release of our the container.
These were no locks on it so there was no need for the keys.
We pray to God Almighty to bless the hands that gave the items. we took pictures of the container as it was being off loaded. They are on the way you will get them.
Please thank those who feverishly worked to have this donation possible!
God Bless you all.
Gladstone and alice Chonde
The routing of the container took it through Mozambique rather than Tanzania. More information coming as soon as we get it.
Again, THANKS!! to all who participated in this project....
